BACKGROUND CHECKS - All employees are required to have a background check every 5 years conducted by the Office of Child and Family Services. The Office of Child and Family Services Background Check Unit (BCU) is involved in a number of different background check processes including those for childcare providers, children's residential providers and also conduct Child Abuse Registry clearances.
CPR & FIRST AID CERTIFICATION - All employees are certified in CPR and First Aid and renew those certifications every two years.
HEALTH & SAFETY TRAINING - All employees are required to initially complete a six hour health & safety training and then complete a two hour refresher training annually.
MANDATED REPORTER TRAINING- All employees participate in a state approved training every 2 years. Mandated Reporters are a critical part of Maine's Child protection system and act as an early warning network to identify suspected child abuse and neglect; promptly enough to avoid serious and long term damage to a child. Professionals who frequently encounter children in their work are in the best position to recognize and report suspected child abuse and neglect and are required by law to do so.
MAINE ROADS TO QUALITY & RISING STARS FOR ME - All employees are members of Maine Roads to Quality, where they access quality training opportunities.
